The moral character of God’s nature.[i]

“If we walk in the light” – the Christian standing – the
other parts of that standing are then, “Fellowship together” and “The blood of
Jesus cleansing from all sin,” so that “In the light as God is in the light,”
we are pure, though we cannot say we have no sin. We can say that we are
cleansed by blood as in the light. And if we confess our sins, He forgives
them, and cleanses from unrighteousness (actual sin) though we cannot say we have not committed any. It is the
abstract truth, power and position.[ii]
