1.
As Son of man He has been dishounered and rejected by men;
therefore all judgment is committed into His hands.[i]
2.
The effect of judgment is condemnation.[ii]
1.
I would point out that there is a slight difference in the
form but important enough in the sense, which shews that “we all,” in the tenth
verse of 2 Cor. V. differs essentially from “we all” in the eighteenth verse of
chapter iii. In the third chapter, “We all (ήμέις
δέ πάντες), with open face beholding,
as in a glass, the glory of the lord,” means all Christians and Christians
exclusively. But in the fifth chapter there is a specific difference
(τούς γάρ
πάντας ήμάς) which has not
been noticed, as far as I am aware, proving that a larger thought is in mind of
the Holy Ghost, and that while Christians, of course, are included, the
expression embraces more than Christians, in fact, all men without exception.[iii]
The more I know of Christ, the more I shall be judging
myself.[iv]
