NOW God had said to Abram, “Get thee out of they
country and from thy kindred, unto a land that I will shew thee.”
So Abram went as God told
him. And he took Sarai his wife, and
all that he had. And Lot went with him. And they came into the land of Canaan.
God bless Abram and Lot in Canaan,
as He had said. But Lot left Abram and
went and pitched his tent near Sodom, the wicked city.
One day God sent two angels to
Lot; and they said to him, Arise, take your wife, and your two daughters, and
escape for your lives. Look not behind
you. For God will destroy Sodom, the
wicked city, with fire.
And while Lot lingered the angels
took hold of him, and hastened him. So
Lot escaped to Zoar.
Then God rained brimstone and fire
out of heaven on the cities of the plain.
But Lot’s wife looked back from
behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
