JOSEPH’S DREAMS

Jacob had twelve sons. But he loved Joseph more than all his children, and he made him a coat of many colours.

When his brothers saw that their father loved Joseph more than all his sons they hated Joseph.

Joseph had a dream one day and told it to his brothers.

And he said, “Hear, I pray you this dream which I have dreamed.

“For behold we were binding sheaves in the field, and lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and behold your sheaves stood round about and made obeisance to my sheaf.”

And his brothers said to him, “Shalt thou indeed reign over us?” And they hated him still more.

Again Joseph had a dream and told it to his father and his brothers and said, “Behold I have dreamed a dream more; and behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.”

And his father rebuked him and said, “Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come and bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?”
