After Cain had killed Abel, God
gave Adam and Eve more children. And
they had children too. But they also became wicked.
At last Noah was the only just
man.
So God told Noah to build an ark
of wood because He was going to bring a flood of water upon the earth to
destroy all living things. God also
told Noah that he should be saved from the flood, and his wife, and his three
sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, and their wives, by the ark.
After a long time the ark was
ready.
Then God told Noah to take with
him into the ark two of every living thing, of birds, animals and all creeping
things, and to take food of every kind to keep them alive.
So Noah did all that God told
him. And Noah went into the ark, and
God shut them in.
The same day God sent a great
rain, and it rained until the high hills were covered by the flood, but the ark
floated safely on the water.
And everything that had breath
died, and Noah only was kept alive and those that were with him in the ark.
